Wild Blue has grown tremendously over the past year, so it’s no surprise that we rescued a record high number of kitties in 2017. To keep up with the demand on our volunteers and our resources (we’re a volunteer-run organization, after all), we’re making a handful of changes this year. One such change is our name itself!
Wild Blue started as “Wild Blue Animal Rescue & Sanctuary” with the intent of helping all species of creatures in need. As time went on, we realized that we didn’t have the expertise or the manpower to handle such a breadth of creatures and so, given the great need of cat-specific services in the greater Colorado Springs area, we narrowed our focus to just cats.
Of course, anyone just coming across us online wouldn’t know that and we continue to field requests for all sorts of creatures that we’re not equipped to help. As such, we’ve decided to make things less confusing by shortening our name and updating our website- we are now ‘Wild Blue Cats!’ and located at wbcats.org.
In addition to this name change, we’re doing a lot of internal work to streamline both our customer service and our kitty care processes. We’re always looking for dedicated volunteers with a variety of skillsets, so please fill out an application on our volunteer page and let us know where you shine!
