I am a native of Texas and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. I am also a mother of two daughters and a former elementary school teacher.
After 21 years, my husband retired from the Army and we settled back in Colorado Springs. Considering that my first word as a baby was kitty, it is no surprise I landed in
the world of cat rescue. I began my volunteer career when we returned from living in England in 2016. I started at the Nevada Humane Society in Reno working at the foster desk.
I was responsible for taking care of kittens and puppies while they waited for the foster to pick them up. I also fostered kittens and cats in my home. A year later,
we moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, where I volunteered with Crystal Creek Rescue. It was a small rescue, so I did a little bit of everything-fostering, social media,
community advocacy and TNR. This is were I learned and developed my love for TNR. In 2018, we returned to Colorado Springs and I became a volunteer at Wild Blue Cats!.
I have volunteered in the foster program and now as a part of the TNR team. Of course, when you foster and TNR kittens and cats, some do not let you return them to the rescue for adoption.
I am happily owned by 5 cats, Jack(adopted from HSPPR), Weazy(foster fail), Baylee(foster fail), Mike(TNR fail), and Cora(neighborhood stray).
To throw a little chaos into the group, I have a 2 year old rescued bloodhound mix, Lily.
