Many years ago, at Wild Blue Cats, we had a dream of opening a critical care unit to give very sick kitties around the clock care. The dream finally became a reality in 2025. We started using the CCU as a surgery center, a TNR staging area and a critical care area for kitties who needed more medical attention than just a simple URI. We treated our first kitties in the month of November. The goal is to get them well and move them to the sanctuary or to foster. We have had great success stories already.
One important detail to all of the excitement of the CCU being open was our plan to move the sanctuary kitties to the CCU ‘Cattic” area while the sanctuary received a much-needed refresh. The sanctuary building has not had a refresh in 15 years. During all of those years Wild Blue Cats touched the lives of 13,000 kitties. Many of those 13,000 precious lives have used the sanctuary in some capacity. Sometimes, just medical needs, but other times it was a kitty’s residence for anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 years.
A fundraiser was started in the spring of 2025 called Spring into Action. With your support we raised $21,000. But our budget was much higher than this. We have had a few surprise donors who wanted to see the sanctuary get the work done, and we raised another 20K through donations after the fundraiser. The generosity still brings me to tears, because the ability to finish our work was so important.

We thank every single person who donated money to make our future bright, clean and ready to serve for many more years.
