Hi! I’m Amanda, and I’ve been volunteering with Wild Blue Cats since March 2025. Animals have always had a special
place in my heart, so being able to spend one day each week helping cats in need is something I truly look forward to.I volunteer with several different teams, including Kaylenes, Socializing, and assisting in the Critical Care Unit. I also enjoy helping as a runner during TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) clinics whenever I’m able.
A little about me: My husband and I celebrated our 22 year anniversary this past May. We’ve lived in some pretty great places including Alaska, Virginia, and Mississippi. No, we aren’t military. Just indecisive! I’ve spent most of my life at home raising my own 6 children and currently have a part-time job to get out of the house a little. I also have an eBay store where I sell vintage and antique items with a focus on 90’s toys. My hobbies outside of all things animals are gardening, thrifting, and DIY home projects that I never seem to finish. It’s definitely a struggle for my husband to keep up with what crazy idea I’m working on and which ones I’ve forgotten about. We have a decent variety of family pets! Ty the axolotl, Lux and Gizmo the guinea pigs, Samantha the corgi, and our 3 cats (Fern- my OG bottle baby, and Sage and Panik our WB babies). Also all the wild birds, and Charles the squirrel who steals birdseed despite having his own peanuts to snack on.
Volunteering has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I love seeing scared cats slowly learn to trust people,
watching sick kittens grow stronger, and knowing that even the smallest things we do can change a cat’s future. Every cat has a story, and I’m grateful to play a small part in helping them find safety, healing, and the loving homes they deserve. I’m incredibly honored to be chosen as Volunteer of the Month and thankful to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated Wild Blue Cats family.
