Hello, we are the Hockett family. Our Wild Blue journey started, we think, in our oldest son’s (Jordan’s) sophomore year in high school (he’s now a sophomore in college) – although Nichole remembers a project Jordan did in middle school that initially introduced him to Wild Blue. Jordan started with socializing the cats – we think he has some sort of cat whispering ability. And well, since we love cats so much, Gary and Austin started helping with cat boxes (everyone’s favorite job, lol). With Nichole being allergic to cats, she found other ways to help by lending a hand with behind the scenes administration needs for Wild Blue (data entry, scanning, filing)… she still spends time loving on the cats in the sanctuary and helping with that other favorite job when she can because she loves the kitties so much. We have a loooooong history of rescuing cats and miss the many that have gone over the rainbow bridge. We spent six years loving on FELV positive cats (please consider adopting these babies, they so are worth it), and those babies were amazing. Right now, our family has four adopted cats, three from Wild Blue. The fourth adopted us from his cage in PetSmart. Isn’t it awesome when THEY pick YOU?! We enjoy supporting Wild Blue because we believe in what they are doing and how much they give to the kitties! We are thankful for the opportunity to volunteer together as a family and support an organization that gives so much. We would also like to extend much thanks and appreciation for all the other volunteers at Wild Blue that keep it being awesome and successful! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
