Hello! I’m Bonnie Goodall. After 35 years as a corporate network engineer, I retired in 2022 and promptly rewired my life
to include more volunteering, creativity, and an unreasonable number of cats (to be clear, none of them are mine… yet). I’m a Colorado native, and no matter how far I roam, this is the place my heart—and hiking boots—always return to. My husband, Scott, is also a native, and together we are enthusiastic admirers of all creatures, great and small.
I’ve been volunteering in one form or another for many years, but I discovered Wild Blue Cats two summers after retiring, and it didn’t just steal my heart—it keeps it. After losing our beloved kitty, Kari, in the summer of 2024, I made a quiet promise to honor her memory by helping animals, especially cats, wherever I can.
That promise led me to Kaylene’s Kradle in August of 2024. When it closed for the winter, I developed a mild (but urgent) case of cat deprivation, which was happily cured in January of 2025 when I found my way to Maya’s Wildheart Village. While my husband and I aren’t quite ready to welcome new fur babies at home yet, let’s just say… it’s a daily test of willpower when so many whiskered charmers pass through Wild Blue’s doors.
Kari and Monkey (Macayle) were our two magnificent fur babies for more than 13 years. Though they’ve crossed the Rainbow Bridge, they remain very much present in our hearts—and I suspect they still have opinions about everything.
When I’m not volunteering at Wild Blue, you will find me at the Colorado Springs Therapeutic Riding Center, drumming with Sun Mountain Taiko, hiking Colorado trails, reading, writing, drawing, baking, or dressing up with a Colorado Lord of the Rings hiking group called The Misty Mountain Rangers. Retirement, it turns out, is less about slowing down and more about following joy, curiosity, and the occasional trail of cat hair… which I consider a badge of honor.
